What is the cell size of Puracell foundation? 5.3mm, which is standard-sized.
Do I need the extra layer of wax? It depends on the level of nectar flow in your area. One coat of our beeswax will usually be enough for bees to draw comb. However, the extra layer of wax will further stimulate bees’ wax-producing glands, which could trigger comb production even during a dearth.
Does Puracell foundation have more cells? Puracell foundation has up to 10% more cells per sheet than standard foundation. This is due to its 36% thinner cell wall, not a smaller cell size.
What frame(s) is compatible with Puracell foundation? Any wooden frame with grooved top and bottom bars.
How do I install Puracell foundation into a wooden frame? Begin by inserting one of the foundation’s crimped edges into either the top or bottom groove of the frame. Then, using both hands, flex the foundation until the other edge is securely fit into the opposite groove. Do not worry about bending the foundation too far — It is designed to withstand it!
How many coats of wax are on the double-waxed foundation? Two.
Does the wax contain 100% beeswax? Yes, the wax coat contains 100% pure capping beeswax — the freshest beeswax available. There are no additives in our wax.
