This unwaxed foundation contains a true-to-nature cell pattern, with 36% thinner cell walls and up to 10% more cells. Bees prefer the pattern, and you’ll enjoy more honey in each frame.

What is the cell size of Puracell foundation? 5.3mm, which is standard-sized.
Does Puracell foundation have more cells? Puracell Foundation has up to 10% more cells per sheet than standard foundation. This is due to its 36% thinner cell wall, not a smaller cell size.
What frame(s) is compatible with Puracell foundation? Any wooden frame with grooved top and bottom bars.
How do I install Puracell foundation into a wooden frame? Begin by inserting one of the foundation’s crimped edges into either the top or bottom groove of the frame. Then, using both hands, flex the foundation until the other edge is securely fit into the opposite groove. Do not worry about bending the foundation too far — It is designed to withstand it!
Where is the foundation made? The foundation is made in our factory in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Should I coat my unwaxed foundation in beeswax? Yes. We recommend coating this unwaxed foundation in 1-2 layers of pure beeswax to stimulate your bees’ wax-producing glands for comb production.
